- To develop an approach to the basic skin exam.
- To describe the basic science, clinical function, and pathology of the skin.
- To describe common distributions (eg scattered, photo-distributed, etc.) and configurations of skin lesions (e.g. annular, grouped, etc.).
- To apply principles of morphology to describe primary and secondary skin lesions.
- To recognize the presentation of primary and secondary skin lesions in different skin tones.
