Clerkship Teaching Session
This session will review the important logistics that a physician needs to understand and manage around the death of a patient in Ontario. It will also touch on identifying and accepting the emotional response to the death of a patient and the role of the physician in supporting families and each other. The virtual session will allow the student a chance to walk through 3 patient death scenarios and interact with the facilitators (all local Coroners).

- Identify the reasons and process for notifying a Coroner in Ontario.
- Describe how to recognize moral distress in a family member, oneself, or a colleague related to the death of a patient. Identify available supports.
