• Explore the localization of brainstem lesions.
• Differentiate between cranial nerve pathology and brainstem pathology.
• Understand the function of the cerebellum.
• Reflect on the structure and function of the basal ganglia.
• Explore the classification of movement disorders.
• Develop an approach to the diagnosis of key movement disorders, namely tremor, myoclonus, choreo-athetosis, tics, dystonia.
• Recognize the features of Parkinson's disease and related syndromes.
• Appreciate the basics of thalamic lesions.
