Laboratory testing can provide valuable information in addition to other clinical and investigative tools. Understanding the performance characteristics of the test is important. Healthy skepticism of the numbers is a good thing. Cardiac markers such as cTn are important tools in the differential diagnosis of suspected Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).
