Activity
Tutorial
Taras Klymchuk, a 64-year-old man, sees his family doctor complaining of a one-year history of decreasing exercise tolerance and dry cough. Taras worked in a foundry in Hamilton since immigrating from the Ukraine 45 years ago. He describes the work environment as very dirty and no respiratory protection was used until at least the late 1980’s. As a mold-maker, he knows he was heavily exposed to silica but also wonders about the effects of the various metals and insulating materials he was around. He is a lifetime non-smoker.
