She has had only one period since discontinuing the oral contraceptive and that was 3 months ago. June's puberty was normal in terms of timing and secondary sexual development. However, she has always had irregular and infrequent and at times, extremely heavy menstrual bleeding. She was started on the oral contraceptive pill to regulate her menses.
